US 70 Bylas Bridge Replacement

FNF was the general contractor on this ADOT bridge replacement project within the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, approximately 35 miles northwest of Safford, AZ. The work consisted of replacing the existing 1905' steel girder bridge, built in 1957, with a precast concrete girder bridge. The scope included highway approach widening and intersection improvements at Calva Road and US 70.

The new bridge now offers several new benefits including wider travel lanes, emergency shoulders, and a walkway for pedestrians. FNF subcontracted with T-Pac to manufacture and place 90 Type VI precast concrete girders. FNF subcontracted with CKC Construction to supply and place the asphalt, Quality Aggregates for concrete, Paradise Rebar, a DBE, for all rebar placement, CASE Foundation for drilled shaft construction, Arizona Highway Specialists for guardrail, Recon for seeding and a handful of other subcontractors.

FNF’s workforce was predominantly local labor from the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The project was substantially complete 6 months ahead of contract time. Roadway tie-ins were constructed in under 96 hours while maintaining one lane of traffic.
